This property was purchased as a vacation retreat for a couple with grown children and teenage grandchildren. In a newly built complex south of St. Augustine, Florida, with incredible views of the marsh and the Intracoastal Waterway, the condo had travertine flooring but otherwise uninspired builder grade finishes. What began as a color consultation ended up becoming a full makeover with new countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, new backslashes, contemporary lighting and fans, and a sleek, sophisticated interior.
New quartz solid surface countertop and micro-mosaic glass tile backsplash from Alyse Edwards in the kitchen.
The dining area features a set of vintage Platner chairs around an Italian glass table with a cast glass top.
The lighting over the dining table is a custom chandelier created using a mylar shade from Moooi and a chrome chandelier with crystal pendants from YLIghting.
The dining area and living area at night. The large canvas in the manner of Picasso was an Internet find.
The living room area overlooks the marsh, a gathering place for evening sunsets.
Additional seating in the living room includes a LeDeun circle lamp the clients saw on a trip to Paris.
The master bedroom suite features a modern bed with pivoting glass side tables and a Mongolian curly sheep's throw.
The wife wanted lavenders and soft greens in the two guest rooms, one for the twin grandchildren and the other for the mother-in-law.
The bedside tables are Adrian Pearsall lacquered white with matching vintage carved Lucite lamps found in Miami.
In the mother-in-law's suite shown here, the walls were painted a calming lavender punctuated by the vintage Adrian Pearsall chair upholstered in Osborne & Little corduroy.
